OUR HISTORY:

 

BAKS was founded in 1994 as a parent-led German-language play group.
Since its founding, BAKS has grown into a state-licensed preschool dedicated to fostering German language development during the crucial early years.
BAKS is run by a board of directors composed of parents and is licensed to serve a maximum of 30 children per day. The school employs the equivalent of three full-time preschool teachers and three permanent part-time teachers. Our colorful facility and generous yard are steps from Albany's Solano Avenue, offering a wide world of experiences to our children.

In the school year 2002 BAKS has launched an afterschool program for older
children (ages 5 and up) at the Berkeley Fellowship Unitarian Universalist Church
(1606 Bonita Ave.).
