Regular hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. for the morning  program and  1:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. for the afternoon program.

Schedule of daily activities

A.M. program: 8:30-1:30

8:30 a.m. Open. Arrival and quiet play. 
9:25 a.m. Clean Up 
9:30 a.m. First circle to integrate children into the group and let them know the options for the day. 
10:00 a.m. Free choice activities and play. 
10:00 - 10:45 a.m. Self-serve snack available in front room for children to eat at their leisure
10:45 a.m. Clean Up. Put on shoes and go outside. (On rainy days, we'll use this time as an inside group activity time. For example, movement activities,music.)
12 00 p.m. Clean Up. Second circle
12:30 p.m. Lunch in the lunchroom 
1:00 p.m. Story time and quiet play 
1:15 p.m. End of day circle (parents welcome). Outside time until children are picked up
1:30p.m. End of morning program

P.M. program: 1:30-5:30

1:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m. Nap/quiet activities 
3:30 p.m. Wake-up and snack
4:15 p.m. Project/outdoor play 
4:45 p.m. Clean Up. Story time and quiet play. 
5:15 p.m. Closing circle 
5:30 p.m. Center closes

Drop off 

Please drop your child off not later than 9:00 a.m. The circle at 9:30 a.m. is very  important for your child to become integrated into the group. If you do arrive after the circle has started, we ask that you wait in the front room until it is finished. It is very important for children to learn concentration skills, and they will be distracted by late arrivals.

Please sign-in and sign-out.

Bay Area Kinder Stube maintains a log of daily attendance for all children at the front door. Parents/guardians are required to sign the child in at the time he or she is dropped off in the morning and to sign the child out when he or she is being picked up. Both entries need to be accompanied by the parent or guardian's full signature. Sign-in sheets provide room for important messages about children's health and emotional life.

End of Day

Pick-up time is, as always, between 1:15 and 1:30 for morning children, 3:30 for half afternoon, and between 5:15 and 5:30 for those participating in the full afternoon program. The children who are staying for the afternoon need a smooth transition into naptime. Please be on time to pick up your child if he/she attends only the morning program.

If no prior notice is given, a late fee of $1 for each minute after the official end of the day will be charged. Payment of late fee is due when the child is picked up.

Special events and activities

Field trips to playgrounds, libraries and merchants in the immediate BAKS neighborhood will be taken from time to time. These will be walking trips only. In addition, BAKS schedules two to three field trips a year that may require driving.
