The Bay Area Kinderstube (BAKS) is a German-language preschool for children between the ages of 2 and 5. Our mission is to make German language development an integral part of the social-emotional, physical, and cognitive development of the child. The BAKS program seeks to stimulate language ability through play and theme-based preschool activities. The language of instruction and interaction with the children is exclusively German.

Most children attending BAKS come from homes with at least one parent who is a native German speaker. But even for those with limited German, experience has shown that parent dedication to raising children with a rich awareness of cultural and linguistic differences can make BAKS a rewarding educational experience with lifelong benefits for learning foreign languages.
