Tuition
All students must contract for a minimum of three mornings a week. Tuition fees are based on a cost of $179 for one morning (8:30 am to 1:15 pm), $137 for one afternoon (1:30 pm to 3:15 pm), and $68 for one half-afternoon (1:30 pm to 5:15 pm) a week over the course of a month.
BAKS is a twelve-month operating preschool. The School observes a two-week break in December and in August, as well as a one-week Easter break in spring. For a full list of the holidays we observe, please view our school calendar.
Families are responsible for full tuition for each and every month of the term, regardless of whether their child is absent due to illness or vacation or if the school is closed for holidays or vacations.
Students who graduate from the preschool program and who do not wish to continue attending school through the end of the contract period in August are still obligated to pay for the remaining months in their contract.

Tuition discounts:
A 5% discount is given to children enrolled for four or more mornings, three or more afternoons, or three or more half-afternoons
An additional 1% discount is given to children enrolled in five mornings, five afternoons, or five half-afternoons.
These discounts are reflected in the prices listed above.
We offer a 10% discount on tuition for siblings in the BAKS preschool program. The discount applies to the child/children with the lower tuition payments.
Tuition fees are non-transferable and non-refundable.
Additional Fees
Afternoon drop-in fees
There is a "drop-in" option for attendance in the program, space permitting. Families interested in taking advantage of this option should speak to the director about availability for the given days. The drop-in fee is $9 per hour.
Deposit
As is customary for preschools, a deposit of $500 is required for new families. Deposits are non-refundable if the student unexpectedly leaves the school before the contract period is completed in August. If the school is notified of a student's departure at the time that the contract is signed and returned, the deposit will be refunded at the end of the school year in which the contract was signed. For all other children, the deposit will be refunded upon graduation from the program. If a family has more than one child enrolled at BAKS, the deposit will be refunded upon graduation of the youngest child.
Enrollment Fee
BAKS charges a non-refundable enrollment fee of $50 for new students and $20 for returning students. The enrollment fee covers the administration and processing of new and returning students and the submission of forms required by the State of California.
Materials Fee
BAKS charges the family of each student $100 annually a non-refundable materials fee. We strive to provide quality materials for our students with which to learn, create art, and explore their world. The materials fee helps defray the costs of such materials. This includes (but is not limited to) art supplies, consumable items for science or cooking projects, materials for special class projects and German-language materials.
Media Rental Fee
The annual flat fee of $20 per student gives families unlimited access to the BAKS video and audio library.
Earthquake Kit
BAKS charges an annual fee of $20 per new student for emergency supplies.
Diapering Fee
Families of children who are not fully potty-trained will be charged a $50 per month fee for diaper changing. All children in diapers or pull-ups will be considered not potty trained. Families are required to provide diapers and wipes as needed.
